Living in Reciprocity
Lorén Spears, Narragansett, and Executive Director of Tomaquag Museum, will share her Narragansett perspective on living in reciprocity sharing traditional ecological knowledge that in encompassed in spirituality. It is understanding the “gift.”
It will include a blessing/prayer in the Narragansett language, a song that grounds us in this place, and words regarding “Living in Reciprocity.”
Bio: Lorén M. Spears, enrolled Narragansett Tribal citizen and Executive Director of Tomaquag Museum, holds a Master’s in Education and received a Doctor of Humane Letters, honoris causa, from the University of Rhode Island for her dedicated work. Sunday worship services are simulcast on the large LCD screen in Smith Hall on Sunday morning. If you have trouble finding a seat in the Sanctuary or would be more comfortable in a more open space, you can watch the service in Smith Hall.
