Share-the-Plate
Each month, Westminster Unitarian Church shares 50% unrestricted cash that is collected at Sunday services to a charitable organization that does work consistent with our UU principles. The remaining 50% of unrestricted cash, as well as all checks and cash envelopes written to Westminster, go directly to the Church. To donate directly to the charity, write a separate check made out to the charity, making the donation tax deductible.
Members of Westminster can nominate the charities, which are then chosen by the Share-The-Plate committee, with final approval by the Board President and Church Minister. All charities must be 501(c)(3) organizations. All members are encouraged to nominate charities worthy of our support.
To nominate a charity, use the Share-the-Plate nomination form, and return the completed form to Share-the-Plate committee members Kristen Morelli, Wendy Schwartz, or Bill Stone, or to Judy Brown at the Church office.
