The Death Cafe Movement

Worship Leader: John Eastman

At a Death Cafe people, often strangers, gather to eat cake, drink coffee and tea and discuss death. The objective is "to increase awareness of death with a view to helping people make the most of their (finite) lives". A Death Cafe is a group directed discussion of death with no agenda, objectives or themes. It is a discussion group rather than a grief support of counseling session. There is no intention of leading people to any conclusion, product or course of action.

Nancy, from our Westminster congregation, will be speaking about the prayers of different religions and the possible meanings/uses of prayer. This will culminate in a guided meditation. Wendy, from our Westminster congregation, will lead the guided meditation.

Religious education classes and childcare services will resume in September.

Fires Within Us and Among Us

Several spiritual traditions hold that we humans have the fire element within us. Accepting this, we can work to make a spiritual practice out of the fires of conflict that inevitably arise within and among us.
