Letter from the President – August 28, 2020

Dear Westminster friends,

I am writing as we are about to begin our church year, and I am feeling energized after spending time with the Board and Reverend Ellen at our annual retreat earlier this week. We have a lot to look forward to this year, and although these are uncertain times, one thing I do know for sure, is that Westminster is going strong.

Even though we are not able do things in the way we are used to, and may be missing that in-person contact, I am grateful to be part of a community that has come up with creative and innovative ways to live our mission of Welcome, Connect and Serve. We’ve got a fantastic Tech Team, many committee volunteers doing good and necessary work, connection and social groups, and of course Sunday worship.

In order to ensure we all remain as safe and healthy as possible, we do plan to continue with social distancing this church year unless there are significant advances in the treatment or prevention of Covid-19. The Board approved updated guidelines from the Bridge Team are posted on the website under “Coronavirus Response”.

Westminster continues to provide opportunities for spiritual growth, intellectual stimulation, service, friendship and nurturing…. we now have five Zoom accounts! Welcome all, and I look forward to seeing you from my living room to yours.

In peace and goodwill, Nancy

Nancy Reed
