Dare was first formed in Providence in 1986 as a grassroots organizing effort to better the lives of persons living (and struggling) in Providence.

DARE’s mission is to organize low-income families living in communities of color for social, economic, and political justice.

DARE uses four interconnected strategies to build power, win campaigns, and fuel a lasting movement for social change.

And Movement Building

Dare believes that poor and working-class families, people of color, oppressed nationalities, including immigrants regardless of documentation status, women, LGBTQ community members, and youth must be at the forefront in leading the way to our liberation.
