Are you curious about identifying as a Unitarian Universalist and becoming a Member of Westminster Unitarian Church, but not sure what that means, or how to go about it?
If you are new, the Membership Team and Minister invite you to worship and explore various church activities, classes, and events as you consider whether or not church membership at Westminster is right for you.
Join the Membership Team for a “Newcomer Welcome”, generally held on the third Sunday of the month, after each service, in the Parish House. There you will get to learn more about who we are and what we’re about, and have a conversation with some longer-term members about what this faith path means for them. No registration needed, please just come by.
Then plan to join Rev. Deborah and other longtime UUs for our “Discover UU” class series which is a great way to get to know others and learn more about Unitarian Universalism as a faith. The 3-session course is held one Saturday a month from 10 am - 2 pm. You can register for the next class series HERE.
When you are ready to go deeper and are considering membership, our “Considering Membership” session offers you an opportunity to answer all your questions and learn more about the rights and responsibilities of membership. We generally offer sessions in the fall, winter and spring. Join our mailing list to keep an eye out for upcoming dates.
Once you choose to become a member you get to sign our Membership book that dates back to the early 1800's. We invite you to do this at a New Member Welcome ceremony planned 3 times per year during worship service.
While these opportunities are a great way to get to know us better as you consider joining your faith journey with ours, we encourage everyone to consider membership to be an ongoing path to deeper community and deeper faith, rather than as a specific date or event.
