It started when we were young – that question: “what do you want to be when you grow up?” And it didn’t stop there but morphed into: “what are you planning to do after …. (high school, college, the job change, the retirement….). In fact, multiple times in our lives we face some version of the question Mary Oliver so poignantly asks in her poem “the Summer Day”: “Tell me what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life? This question can be, at the same time, one of the most exhilarating and one of the most frightening questions we will ever face. And while the practical answers to that question may change over time, if we listen deeply we may just find that quietly within us is one answer waiting patiently for us to hear. Tell me: what is it for you that waits to express in your wild and precious life?
Note: We use YouTube to live-stream our Sunday worship services on our church website.
Sunday worship services are simulcast on the large LCD screen in Smith Hall on Sunday morning. If you have trouble finding a seat in the Sanctuary or would be more comfortable in a more open space, you can watch the service in Smith Hall.
