Thanksgiving Cornbread Communion: The Keeping Quilt

Bring a memento to church! In this month of “memory” Thanksgiving is a time to remember this country’s history, as well as our own. Where do we come from? Who or what has sustained, supported and loved us into who we are today? In this all ages service, all are invited to bring something (or a photo of something or someone) that you feel deeply connected to, has shaped your history, or is shaping you today. For the youngest at heart it could be your favorite stuffed animal or toy that has meaning to you. For those with more years it might be a memento that you hold dear or a photo of someone you love. Click here to view the “Mementos that matter” exercise for more ideas. We will celebrate where we come from and who we are becoming, today.
